Clay Class for Adults - Handbuilt Project Making Series
Ready to get your hands muddy and your imagination flowing? Join us for our four-week hand-building pottery class with the amazing Ninna!
This class is perfect for everyone, from complete beginners to seasoned pros. You'll learn a variety of techniques like coiling, slab building, and using templates to create stunning, one-of-a-kind pieces. The best part? Hand-building gives you the freedom to create anything you can dream up—from beautiful mugs and bowls to unique sculptural art.
Over four weeks, Ninna will guide you through the process, teaching you everything you need to know, including how to glaze your finished work. Come discover the endless possibilities of clay, have some fun, and leave with a piece you'll be proud of!
This series we will be making:
Class 1, Slab Building. Build with rolled out clay to create unique pieces using templates and molds. Make things like plates and cups. Slab building is limitless to what you can create.
Class 2, Coiling and pinch pots. Coils and pinch pots are an excellent way to create an organic, historic feeling pot. Height and width are easily achievable and your hands get to feel and get used to the clay. Make things like bowls and vases.
Class 3, Whimsical project using all the techniques you have learned in the previous classes. Bring your ideas to this free flowing class and make things like, tooth pick guy, monsters, dishes and so many other fun things.
Class 4, Finishing and glazing. Choose from our selection of in-house glazes and commercial glazes, with lots of colours to choose from. Have fun experimenting with glaze combos and decorating!
Classes may vary depending on the group and projects. Take the series again and again. We will alter the projects so you can make some new things or the same things again if you would like.
No experience necessary.
Whats included:
Each person receives 11 lb. of clay per 4 week class. Extra clay can be purchased if necessary - No outside clay permitted.
All work is fired onsite to cone 6 with lead free glazes provided for completed projects.
All firing will be done by the instructor and finished work ready about two weeks following the class.
Payment is due at time of booking. Book online on our website, or call to make your paid reserve for your spot. Kids over 12 may be paid participants with paid adult.
Cancellation: We require 24 hours or more for cancellation. Cancellation credit for a future workshop within the following 6 months. No Credits issued for no shows or last-minute cancellations.
