In this hands-on class, we’ll learn how to craft a miniature junk journal using recycled materials, paper scraps, found objects, and a big dose of creativity.
Whether you’re new to junk journaling or a seasoned maker, this workshop is a delightful opportunity to slow down, play with paper, and create a beautiful tiny treasure that fits in the palm of your hand.
Why Do We Make Junk Journals?
Junk journals are creative books made from “junk” - things that might otherwise be tossed away: old book pages, envelopes, ticket stubs, bits of string, fabric scraps, or packaging. But when brought together with care and imagination, these pieces become a meaningful, expressive work of art.
We make junk journals to:
Document memories in a creative way.
Use and reuse what we already have.
Explore art without pressure.
Capture little moments, thoughts, or collections.
Enjoy the process of making something with our hands.
What Will We Use in Class?
In this class, you’ll be provided with (or bring your own) materials such as:
Scraps of paper (book pages, magazines, music sheets, junk mail, etc.)
Cardboard for covers (cereal boxes or packaging are great!)
Glue sticks, washi tape, paper clips, string, and thread.
Scissors, staplers, hole punches.
Bits of fabric, ribbon, buttons, tags, and ephemera.
Everything doesn’t have to match - in fact, that’s the fun of it!

Tiny junk journals can be used as:
Mini diaries or gratitude journals.
Art journals or sketchbooks.
